Privacy Policy
Effective March 20, 2026.
1. Information We Collect
DawnScore collects the following data to provide sunlight scoring:
- Account information: Email address and name when you create an account.
- Location data: GPS coordinates used to calculate solar geometry for your scan. Location is captured only when you initiate a scan.
- Camera images: Photos of rooms captured during scans. Images are processed on-device and are not shared with third parties.
- Device compass heading: Used to determine which direction windows face.
- Scan results: DawnScore values, sub-scores, and metadata stored in your account.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Calculate and display DawnScore sunlight ratings for scanned rooms.
- Store your scan history so you can review past results.
- Improve the accuracy of our scoring algorithm using aggregated, anonymized data.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). All data is encrypted in transit via TLS and at rest. Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data.
4. Third-Party Services
- Supabase: Authentication and database hosting.
- Open-Meteo: Historical weather data (no personal data sent — only coordinates).
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim: Reverse geocoding of GPS coordinates to addresses.
- Google OAuth: Optional sign-in via Google (governed by Google's privacy policy).
5. Data Retention
Scan data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing luckett.demarcus@gmail.com.
6. Children's Privacy
DawnScore is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
